Education

Raid is a partner with Meirc Training & Consulting. He holds a bachelor of science in accounting from the University of Jordan and a master in business administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in the USA. In addition, Raid is a certified public accountant (CPA) licensed by the Texas State Board of Accountancy, a certified management accountant (CMA), and a certified corporate financial planning & analysis (FP&A) professional. He also holds a certificate in international financial reporting (Cert IFR) and a certificate in international public sector accounting standards (IPSAS) both from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Experience

Before joining Meirc, Raid held several positions in the USA. He was an accounting manager at Trinity Industries Leasing, a senior accountant at Trinity Industries Inc. and a team leader at Outsource Partners International. His work experience ranges from corporate accounting, financial accounting and reporting to budgeting, forecasting and managerial accounting, as well as consolidating the financial statements of a multinational, multibillion dollar company. Part of Raid’s tasks was overseeing period-end processes and accounting for payables and receivables as well as designing management reports using several systems and software such as MS Excel, Oracle and Hyperion. His responsibilities included setting up and accounting for several special purpose entities (SPEs), complex sale leaseback arrangements, off-balance sheet financing, bonds offerings, treasury shares and stock options, in addition to researching new accounting pronouncements and their financial effects. He was also involved in assessing process controls and identifying areas for improvement, namely as part of Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Expertise

With Meirc, Raid’s areas of expertise include a portfolio of programs in financial accounting, managerial accounting, finance, budgeting and cost management. He also focuses on programs in specialized accounting such as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), business consolidation and investment accounting, fixed assets accounting, payables and receivables. He also provides training and consulting on accounting process improvement, fast closing, and accounting best practices. Raid’s expertise also include financial analysis, financial forecasting, financial and budget modeling, statistical and data analysis, as well as building Excel-based dashboards, models and KPI reports.
